Alhamdulillah, after two years of separation, an unidentified found child has finally been reunited with his family, a deeply emotional moment made possible through the dedicated efforts of Mera Pyara - Virtual Center for Child Safety, operating under the vision of Punjab Safe Cities Authority.

The child, later identified as Sulman, went missing in August 2024 and remained separated from his loved ones for nearly two years. During this difficult period, his family continued searching for him with hope and patience, while uncertainty surrounded his whereabouts.

The child was found in a vulnerable condition near Pir Wadhai Mor, District Rawalpindi. At the time, he was only able to share his name as “Usman” and could not provide any details about his home address or family, which made tracing his relatives extremely difficult. For his safety, protection, and well-being, he was shifted to Edhi Foundation at Edhi Home Islamabad, on 21 August 2024. Later, he was transferred to Edhi Home Lahore and subsequently shifted to Edhi Home Multan on 27 April 2026, where he remained under care.

When the case came under the attention of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, the Mera Pyara team began efforts to identify the child and reconnect him with his family. As part of its nationwide mission to reunite missing and unidentified children, the team conducted the child’s interview and created a short video profile. This video was shared on Mera Pyara’s official social media platforms so that families and communities across the country could help identify this lost child.

This effort soon led to an important breakthrough.

The child’s maternal uncle, Asad Khan, saw the video on the Mera Pyara Facebook page and immediately recognized him as Sulman, son of Lal Agha, who had been missing since August 2024. Without delay, he contacted the Mera Pyara team and provided relevant family details.

Following this development, the Mera Pyara team initiated a detailed verification process. Family information and supporting details were carefully reviewed to confirm the child’s identity. After completion of all legal and necessary procedures, Sulman was safely reunited with his family.

The reunion was filled with emotions, a moment of immense relief, happiness, and gratitude as a child finally returned to the loving embrace of his family.

Such success stories highlight the real impact of Mera Pyara’s mission. Because of its ongoing efforts and results, the initiative has also received global recognition and was selected among the Top 20 e-Government initiatives at the WSIS Forum 2026.

Mera Pyara continues its mission to ensure that every missing child safely returns home.
