Alhamdulillah, after two long years of separation, a special person named Farhan has finally been reunited with his family. This emotional reunion became possible through the dedicated efforts of Mera Pyara - Virtual Center for Child Safety, working under the vision of Punjab Safe Cities Authority.

Farhan, around 25 years old, went missing from Lahore in February 2024. As a special person in a vulnerable condition, he remained away from his loved ones for a long time, while his family continued searching for him with hope and prayers.

On 9 January 2026, Farhan was found by someone kind person in the area of Police Station Kotli Sattian in Murree. Since no immediate family information was available and he required proper care and protection, so he was shifted to the Edhi Foundation at Edhi Home Multan, where he stayed under supervision and care.

The case took a positive turn when it came under the attention of the Mera Pyara team. Using modern tracing methods and the Facial Recognition Alert system, the team started efforts to identify Farhan and trace his family connections.

Their efforts soon brought a breakthrough.

Through the Facial Recognition Alert system, the team successfully traced Farhan’s family. After proper coordination and verification, the family was contacted and necessary identification details were carefully reviewed to ensure everything was accurate and legally verified.

Once all procedures were completed, Farhan was safely reunited with his brother, Imran Shahzad.

The reunion was filled with powerful emotions, relief, happiness, and gratitude as the family finally embraced their loved one again after years of separation.

Reunion stories like Farhan’s show the real impact of Mera Pyara’s mission in reconnecting lost and vulnerable individuals with their families through technology, teamwork, and timely action. Because of its continuous success in helping families reunite, Mera Pyara was also recognized internationally and selected among the Top 20 E-Government initiatives at the WSIS Forum 2026.
