After nearly eight years of separation, Shaheen Bibi has finally been reunited with her family—a moment filled with relief, joy, and gratitude for everyone involved.
Shaheen Bibi, wife of Amanat, was found in June 2018 within the jurisdiction of Mithadar Police Station in Karachi. At the time, she was experiencing significant mental health challenges and was unable to provide any clear information about her identity, family, or hometown. With no reliable details available, efforts to trace her relatives reached a dead end.
To ensure her safety and well-being, she was placed in a shelter home, where she remained under care for years while her family continued to search for answers.
The breakthrough came when the Mera Pyara – Virtual Center for Child Safety team visited Edhi Center North Karachi as part of its ongoing efforts to identify and reunite vulnerable and unidentified individuals with their families across Pakistan.
During their interaction with Shaheen Bibi, the team realized that finding her family would require more than routine questioning. They conducted multiple interviews and counseling sessions, patiently listening to her memories and searching for even the smallest clue that could help uncover her past.
One detail kept resurfacing during these conversations: the words “Ravi Rayon.” While it seemed insignificant at first, the team recognized that it might hold the key to her identity and began investigating further.
Their efforts revealed that Ravi Rayon was the name of a well-known industrial mill in Muridke. This discovery provided a valuable lead and allowed the team to focus its search on nearby communities. Using local contacts, sharing her photograph, and carefully cross-checking information gathered during the interviews, the search gradually gained momentum.
After persistent tracing efforts and extensive coordination, the team successfully located Shaheen Bibi’s family—ending nearly eight years of uncertainty.
Before the reunion, a thorough verification process was carried out to confirm the family's identity and ensure the accuracy of the match. Once all checks were completed, Shaheen Bibi was reunited with her son, Dilsher.
The reunion was deeply emotional. After years of separation, a mother and son finally embraced again, bringing an end to a chapter marked by loss, uncertainty, and longing. What once seemed impossible became a reality through patience, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to bringing families back together.
Shaheen Bibi’s story is a powerful reminder that even the smallest clue can make a life-changing difference. It also highlights the importance of compassionate interviewing, community support, and persistent family tracing in helping vulnerable individuals find their way home.
Through its mission of reconnecting lost and vulnerable people with their loved ones, Mera Pyara continues to restore hope to families across Pakistan. Every successful reunification is more than a case solved—it is a family healed, a life restored, and proof that no matter how much time has passed, it is never too late to bring someone home.
