Naheeda Reunited After 4 Years Through Mera Pyara Efforts

Alhamdulillah, after four years of separation, Naheeda has finally been reunited with her family, a deeply emotional moment that reflects hope, patience, and the impactful efforts of Mera Pyara - Virtual Center for Child Safety, working under the vision of Punjab Safe Cities Authority.

Naheeda went missing in 2022 from Sheikhupura. She was later found in a vulnerable condition in Gujranwala and, due to the absence of any identification or family information, was placed in Dar-ul-Aman Gujranwala for protection and care. For years, she lived away from her loved ones, unable to reconnect with her family.

Meanwhile, her family continued to search for her, facing emotional distress and uncertainty but holding on to hope.

When the case came under the attention of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, the Mera Pyara team initiated efforts to trace her identity and locate her family. As part of its mission, the team conducted her interview and recorded a short video, which was shared on Mera Pyara’s official social media platforms to maximize outreach.

This effort proved to be a turning point.

After watching the video, Naheeda’s sister, Rida, recognized her and immediately contacted the Mera Pyara team. She confirmed that the girl living in Dar-ul-Aman, Gujranwala, was her sister Naheeda, who had been missing since 2022.

Following this lead, the Mera Pyara team initiated a detailed verification process. The family provided relevant information and supporting details, which were carefully reviewed. After completing all necessary legal and verification procedures, Naheeda was finally reunited with her parents.

The reunion was filled with emotions, a moment of relief, joy, and gratitude as a family was brought back together after years of separation.

Such success stories highlight the effectiveness and impact of Mera Pyara’s mission. Due to its ongoing efforts to reunite missing individuals, the initiative has been recognized globally and selected as one of the Top 20 E-Government projects at the WSIS Forum 2026.

Mera Pyara continues its mission to ensure that every missing child is safely reunited with their family.
