This is the heart-touching story of Shumaila, a special child who was reunited with her parents with the efforts of Mera Pyara after 15 long years of separation. It is difficult even to imagine what she must have gone through, a child with special needs, unable to share her home address or her identity, living silently with no way to find her family. And on the other side were her parents, spending years in pain, helplessness, and hope, searching for their missing daughter.
In 2010, Shumaila was found by police in the Landhi area of Karachi. With no identification and no way to trace her family, she was handed over to Edhi Centre Karachi, where she lived for years, unable to communicate her background.
But by the grace of Almighty Allah, the Mera Pyara Team of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) did not give up.
The dedicated Mera Pyara team travelled all the way from Lahore to Karachi, interviewed unidentified children, and shared their details on social media in hopes of reaching their families. Shumaila’s father saw her video online, and that moment changed everything. After 15 painful years, the family was finally reunited in an emotional scene that can only be described as a miracle.
Watch the video that also includes a short interview with Faisal Edhi, son of the late Abdul Sattar Edhi, acknowledging their years of service and compassion. May Allah reward the Edhi family and their staff for their tireless efforts in serving orphans, the poor, and the abandoned. Ameen.
This beautiful reunion became possible only through the blessings of Allah and the continuous hard work of the Mera Pyara team in Karachi. The mission remains firm: to ensure that no child stays separated from their family, and every mother reunites with her child.
